We are Shapers from Gurugram Hub. What can we do to help?

Fight Covid Together

COVID had a large impact on people, especially underprivileged ones at the grass-roots. Even the basic medication wasn’t available since it was either out of stock or was very expensive due to the high demand.

Fight COVID Together is an initiative to mobilize a community-led response towards fighting the threats & challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

About the initiative

Global Shapers Gurugram hub collaborated with the project MedsForMore and has been leading it in five centres across four cities in Delhi NCR (Gurugram, Delhi, Faridabad, Noida).

#MedsForMore is a citizen-led, Robinhood-style initiative to collect unexpired and unused/leftover COVID-19 medicines and distribute them amongst those with neither access nor affordability.

The purpose is twofold – Increasing Impact while Reducing Waste.

Donations

Over 4 shipments, we donated around 63 KG medicines and received over 40+ individual and collective donations to our NGO Partner Goonj. They further distributed these medicines to Covid-19 patients in rural Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi.

Partnerships

This entire project involved multiple partnerships which were led by GSG including

Through MyGate, we reached out to around 18,000 residential communities not just in Delhi NCR but across Kolkata, Surat, Vadodara, Chennai and Mumbai as well, to set up donation boxes in the societies.

Internshala – We launched the MedsForMore Ambassador Program with Internshala. Through this program, we received sign ups from around 900 people across the country to become the ambassadors for MFM in their respective localities. Around 55 ambassadors also signed up to lead donation drives in their communities, 27 of these ambassadors did the donation drives in Delhi NCR.

Through AIESEC, we could promote this program in around 150 student networks
